What Auto Insurance Limits Should I Have?

What are insurance limits?
Many customers ask me what auto insurance limits they should have. Now, the state minimum in Texas for liability for bodily injury is 30,000 per person, up to 60,000 for all people in the other vehicle. Then, for property damage, it’s 25,000. Now, regardless of your financial position, you should never have the state minimum limits. If you cause an accident, and the other party has injuries that exceed 30,000 per person, up to 60,000 for all persons, you could be held liable for the shortage. If their vehicle costs more than 25,000 to fix, you can also be held liable for the difference. The difference in premium is minimal to raise it to at least 50,000 per person, 100,000 combined people, and then 50,000 for property damage.
